This naturally occurring, metamorphic rock is hard, tough, durable and almost entirely made of mineral quartz. On the Mohs Hardness Scale its about a seven making it heat and stain resistant. But where does it come from? Sandstone is metamorphosed from a mountain-building events, at convergent plate boundaries. Quartzite is highly desirable with its natural beauty.
